| hello I am almost ready to replace my old 210 gal tank 3 years old 240 lbs live rock , 2-3 in sand bed the new one will be BB 145 gal can start direct with the live rock and the water from my old system ? I have some sps and lps corals and two clams also I want to keep two cardinal fish , one anthias and one blenny if I do this in one day I will have success or disaster ? your answer will be very useful for me thank you in advance

| You can certainly use the liverock and water provided you take out the water you want to use prior to removing the liverock and making a mess. I don't see any reason why you could not be successful with this transition.

thank you for the quick response ! the reaction of live rock in the new place is the main worry ..I will support the new system with a 50 gal tank old water and some biological surfaces in it , for the first 15 days – is it good idea ?-

I am sorry for my English. . I can connect a 50 gal plastic tank with old water and some biological material to the new system for some days , is it good idea ?

That sounds like a fine idea. You could even make that 50 a permenant fixture by making it a refugium or a frag tank.

yes I know is a good idea .. but I don’t have enough space under the stand so i can’t dare to speak loud about it .. my wife holds knives always
