I have 2 false clowns. The bigger of the two, is now making a hole at the corner of the tank. And often lays in the hole, almost like sleeping. On top of this, he/she defend that area..Is this something that is leading into breeding ???

perhaps preparing the burrow for a clutch, then. The only time I ever see clownfish digging is to keep sand away from its anemone. (or its chosen "spot"). I've never seen one dig and lay in it. (it's gotta be getting ready for eggs, that seems to be the only logical reason)

yup sounds too me as well, that shes preparing the nest......
but its interesting, the clowns adhere their eggs to a hard clean substrate, so is there anything nearby? rockwork, cave wall, flower pot that can be viewed as her substrate?
should be any day if not by now that you'll be the proud owner of a few hundred little orangish eggs

There is an anemone in the tank, but not the one she likes.. I had a Closed Brain near where she was digging, I had to move it cause the hole was getting so big that she was almost digging under the brain. Today she covered the hole. It's almost level with the rest of the sand.. I will put up a picture, when she digs the hole again and she rests in it..
