Both are easy to set up and easy to maintain.

If you are looking at a canister filter there are a few that I would recommend. Any of the Eheim filters are good choices along with the Aquarium Pharm. Rena filters.

HTH,

best freshwater filter

I have converted a reef tank with a sump to a frreshwater tank (45 gallon). I am using a biowheel in the sump now. The pump in the sump is somewhat noisy and I really do not need a sump any more I am considering switching to a canister or hangon filter. It has been a decade since I bought something like that. What do you recommend for a brand that is quiet, easy to maintain in an office and will not leak? Thanks in advance!
