I'm in the process of setting up a 180 gal SW with 2 MF and a 75 gal sump. I'm using the both bulkheads inside the megaFlows for drains to sump. How many gph should I used for return. I have max head of 5 Ft. . What is recommended ? External or In Tank Pump. I like to to consider leaks, noise and maintenance and wattage . Thanks

Cmon guys, Pls give some input. I can not set up may tank, till I have some suggestions. To make it simple , should I just have an external? What is the best. I was thinking to have reefflow dart but , I've read in some threads, that there is a leak problem at the output and bearing last for less than a year. I want to to pump out more than 3600 ghp .

IMO for high gph flow rates you are better off going external (there will be more options).  If space if very limited (or the sump can't be drilled) that is when I will recommend submersible pumps.  But I feel external pumps are usually more reliable and will transfer less heat to the tank itself.

I had no issues with my Sequence pumps and they have great customer service.  So if you do run into a problem, they will take care of you without any run around.

HTH,
