| I have a 135 gal aqaurium with a 35 gal sump tank. I currently have 2-12" oscars and 3 4" cichlids. Is this an overloaded system or is this ok for the tank size?

| The two oscars themselves are just about maxed out for space and you really shouldn't put more in there with them. As you know cichlids are very aggressive and once the aquarium gets over crowded they will take matters into their own hands (fins) and lower the population themselves. If the oscars are leaving the other cichlids alone then you may be alright but most cichlids, oscars included, aren't social fish and not up for a community type tank. That said now I've seen a 120 gallon convict only cichlid tank at the LFS, his prize tank, with over 20 3-4 inch convicts in there. A little more than my liking but they seem to get along but convicts are more docile than most cichlids. I've had electric yellows that couldn't get along with more than a pair.

| They all get along ok but i was more concerned with overstocking my aqaurium and having problems with high ammonia and nitrates..

| I am assuming that the recommnedations I ahve seen on site such as liveaquaria.com of 100 gallons minimum for a mated pair of oscars takes into consideration bio load. So you should be fine.
